We safeguard promotions for the public.
If you have gone to the time, trouble and potentially cost, of entering a promotion, you need to know that it will be run fairly. If the promotion is being run by a reputable brand, then the chances are that it will be run properly, but you need to take extra care with promotions run on the internet or Facebook from companies that you have never heard of – they will often be running them just to get and then resell your personal data.
But even big brands can make mistakes- knowingly or through ignorance of the rules. That is why PromoVeritas exists - we look after the promotions for many hundreds of big and small brands. We try to give them fair terms and conditions, and make sure that if it is a competition that your entry will be properly judged, and if it is a prize draw, that the winners are picked fairly and randomly, that you are guaranteed as much chance of winning as everyone else.
So if you see our name in the Terms, you can be confident about entering.
If you come across a promotion that is not run fairly, then it is easy to complain about – either to the Advertising Standards Authority at www.asa.org.uk or to the Institute of Promotional Marketing at www.theipm.org.uk. Click here to read more about the rules.
