Toyota 2020 Olympics
As a proud partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Toyota wanted to offer fans a once in a lifetime chance to win a place in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay.
Toyota’s agency The & Partnership came to PromoVeritas to help them to create and deliver it – compliantly.
What we did
The initial brief was for the UK only, but with just a few tweaks to the mechanic, we were able to show the client how the campaign could be run across Europe. Within days, 40 countries had signed on, from Russia to Portugal, Norway to Turkey, and we drafted master Terms & Conditions, localised translations, and then then developed a bespoke master site that intuitively supported entries from over 40 nations and over 30 different languages as well as coping with, multiple character types and localised privacy policies.

The PromoVeritas team used their legal know-how to devise a simple over-arching cloud solution to extend an idea from one to many nations whilst sticking to a low budget and ensuring no compliance issues and flawless delivery. The only thing we could not have anticipated was the cancellation of the Tokyo Olympics due to the Covid virus, but an alternate prize was substituted, and the final winner remained happy!
