Our latest ISO27001 and why being responsible with client data is important to PromoVeritas.
PromoVeritas are delighted to announce that we have passed our ISO27001 Certification for the fifth consecutive year. Jimmy Ward, our Information Security Manager, explains what the accreditation stands for and why it is so important.

Being responsible data custodians is an essential part of the work PromoVeritas do in running compliant and effective promotional activations for brands and agencies around the world.
Managing global competitions, prize draws and instant wins on-pack and online means that we also manage the personal data of thousands of entrants from various locations every single day, processing it to select winners, then communicate with them and facilitate the delivery of their prizes amongst other things.

This entry data is often collected by the brands we work with to build a database that allows them to communicate with consumers and understand their behaviour better. But handling more data means there is more margin for error which is why we take our responsibility as Data Processors extremely seriously and invite the scrutiny of an annual ISO27001 inspection.
ISO27001 is the international standard for information security and helps us to establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve our data security to the highest levels.
When you consider that Amazon is facing a fine of £636 million by Luxembourg’s data protection authority and that last week Apple and Google were each fined €10 million by Italian authorities all for failing to follow the EU’s GDPR rules about obtaining consent it is not hard to understand why data security matters for the reputation of us and our clients.
